Dear wine producers
Unfortunately, WOSA - Wines of South Africa - has announced that there will be no South Africa generic tasting event on Monday September 27 in Zurich.
At this point we would like to thank WOSA, especially Dalene Steyn and Petra Mayer, for their work done in order to promote South African
Wines in Switzerland. It would be a great pity if all the work done by WOSA and many producers and importers would be to no purpose. For that reason South Africa Wines United and Südafrikamesse GmbH decided to act.
We will provide detailed information at the beginning of the coming week. Some decisions have been made already:
* THERE WILL BE A SOUTH AFRICAN WINE SHOW on September 27, 2004 in the Kongresshaus Zurich!
* Target groups will be gastronomy, trade, media and - supplementary to the original event - consumers as well; on the back of the successful Südafrikamessen 2001 and 2002 we will be able to have 2500 to 3000 visitors.
* We will have flyers, eMail marketing and a special advertising in Switzerland's leading wine magazine "vinum".
* Terms of conditions, prices etc. will remain unchanged.
For those of you, who already booked a flight to Switzerland and made arrangements accordingly: do neither change your plans nor cancel your flight arrangements! We will do anything to make it possible for you to participate (e.g. shipping of sample wines, approximately mid of
August, will be organized by South Africa Wines United).
If you didn't decide yet to show your wines in Zurich: now is the time to determine, to take part in this important event and to seize the
chance to establish your wines in the Swiss market!
We feel that it is important to establish a foothold in the all important Swiss market, especially in the higher premium price bracket
(where higher quantity in relation to the size of consumer market can be achieved and relevant image world wide can be built). Especially
since the world wine markets are depressed, it is important to build a base for future growth now! Be aware that all relevant importers of
South African wines will be present a the show.
All together, we will be able to cope with this challenge!
