A huge congratulations to Jordan and La Motte as both their restaurants have been judged in the Top 10 of places to eat in South Africa.
Many of you may have seen the news already yet perhaps you have never dined at either establishment and have no idea what the fuss is all about.

Here's a mini break-down of these two wonderful restaurants which each deserve your special attention.

Jordan Restaurant

Located in Stellenbosch and with beautiful views of the hills, the restaurant is run by George Jardine who has twice been the winner of the Eat Out Chef of the Year award (2006 and 2007).

Menus at Jordan Restaurant change daily, but the format for lunch and dinner remain the same throughout the year. George sources only fresh, local produce, which means you get the best quality chef making your meal with the freshest ingredients. This dinging experience will satisfy all senses from sight through to palate, ensuring a memorable occasion

Pierneef à La Motte

The name of the restaurant was inspired by La Motte’s admiration of South African artist Jacob Hendrik Pierneef  (1886 – 1957). Pierneef’s creativity in portraying the beauty of the South African landscape is echoed in the restaurant’s offering of traditional cuisine with a modern interpretation. The unique food styles and diverse flavours have been inspired by centuries of cooking, spiced by influences from across the globe, forming the precious ingredients of Cape Winelands Cuisine. A hardcover recipe book of the same title and with beautiful photography now shares these special recipes and their history. Cape Winelands Cuisine, the cookbook, is available from the La Motte Farm Shop and all leading bookshops.

The restaurant interior blends beautifully with the external surroundings – a fresh, natural look inside is embraced by tranquil gardens and majestic oak trees – where a Winelands Tea with a selection of home-baked delights from the La Motte Farm Shop can be enjoyed.

The exclusively arranged Pierneef à La Motte Chef’s Table offers a fine-dine menu in line with guests’ preferences, as pre-arranged with Chef Chris Erasmus, as well as a harmoniously complementing wine selection.
