Fleur du Cap
Fleur du Cap white wines have been showered in Canadian gold reaping no less than three Gold medals at the 2013 Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada.
Held in Québec recently, the 20th Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada, received a total of 1722 entries from 34 countries. The three Fleur du Cap gold medallists are, the Platter’s 5-star Fleur du Cap Noble Late Harvest 2010, Fleur du Cap Unfiltered Chardonnay 2012 and Fleur du Cap Chardonnay 2012.

Showing remarkable consistency as one of South Africa’s top dessert wines, Fleur du Cap Noble Late Harvest 2010, the 5th consecutive vintage to achieve a 5-star rating from Platter’s South African Wine Guide, was also recognised earlier this year for its excellence with a 95- point rating by respected wine commentator and British Master of Wine, Tim Atkin, in his report on South African wines.

“The Noble Late Harvest is our Liquid Gold and it is pure pleasure to see how it excels consistently at local and international wine competitions. Being recognised for two very different styles of Chardonnay is simply the cherry on top,” says Pieter Badenhorst who is responsible for Fleur du Cap’s white wines and works closely with Fleur du Cap cellar-master Andrea Freeborough and viticulturist, Bennie Liebenberg.

The Fleur du Cap Noble Late Harvest 2010, Fleur du Cap Unfiltered Chardonnay 2012 and the Fleur du Cap Chardonnay 2012 are available at leading wine stores. Alternatively these wines can be purchased from the Fleur du Cap cellar door at Die Bergkelder in Stellenbosch at around R119, R95 and R52, respectively.
