Dan Jago, Tesco UK & Group Wine Director, presented the award to Origin Wine mentioning especially Origin’s Technical excellence, the Finest Quality, New Product development and their on-going work in reviewing the range. Upon receiving the award Jon Woodriffe, Origin UK Sales Director, thanked the team in South Africa for their hard work, innovation and dedication. “This is not the kind of award one man achieves in a moment. It has required commitment from every single one of our employees and months of hard work to ensure that we achieve our one goal – on time. At Origin we all know how to work hard and then play hard. Thanks to Tesco we have reason to play again!’ Origin Wine currently has no fewer than nine of its own brands on Tesco’s shelves and also supplies the multi-national retailer with bottled wine for its own brands. Origin’s commitment to their customers is not limited to innovation alone. During the Tesco Food Manufacturing Standard audit at the end of 2012, Origin’s wine packaging facility outside Stellenbosch achieved the coveted the Blue Status - the highest rating awarded by the Tesco Standard.
