Fiona McDonald on Nederburg Auction

The 39th Nederburg Auction takes place on the first weekend in September, 2013. Fiona McDonald, well-known journo and wine judge participated in the selection process and gives her views.
Fiona McDonald has spent many years both writing about wine, at The Mercury in Kwa-Zulu Natal, to editor of WINE magazine (South Africa) for 8 years.
She’s also a recognised international wine judge, serving at the London International Wine Challenge, Decanter World Wine Awards as well as a jury president at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and has contributed to virtually every wine and food publication in South Africa.

Fiona is an independent journalist and gives her views on her experience of being one of the 10 panelists, during the recent selection process for the 2013 Nederburg Auction.

Their brief from the Auction team? To select “the best of South Africa” - those wines that they believe reflect the best potential in terms of wine appreciation, maturation and/or collectability status – wines with extraordinary quality and rarity that can be showcased for buyers from all over the world on an authentic, proudly South African platform.
