Helderberg Wine Route
It is time again for the annual wine festival held by the Helderberg Wine Route, a sub-route of the Stellenbosch Wine Route.

The 24 wine farms forming part of this route includes Alto, Annandale, Avontuur, Bilton, Cordoba, Dellrust, Eikendal, Helderkruin, Ingwe, JP Bredell, Ken Forrester, Longridge, Lourensford, Lushof, Morgenster, Mount Rozier, Onderkloof, Post House, Rust & Vrede, Somerbosch, Vergelegen, Vergenoegd, Webersburg en Yonder Hill. Wines from these farms can be tasted in the air-conditioned hall at Somerset College, from 10:00 on Saturday-morning, 20 November.

Enjoy lunch with a glass of wine in the sit-down restaurant-area, with music by "Zamar", a local instrumental group. Unique wine-themed artworks from local artists will be on display and for sale. Take a wine-walk in the vineyards around the college, shop around the crafts-stalls, attend cooper demonstrations, and finish the day with a sundowner concert by "Navi Redd", overall winners at the KKNK 2004. This a capella group astonishes with their unaccompanied versions of well-known hits!

Lots of fun will be on offer for the kids. Guided pony-rides, hotdogs and hamburger stalls, as well as a supervised area for children under 7 years of age will be available.

Entrance is R80 for adults, R65 for pensioners, and free for children under 18. Tickets are available at Computicket, the Somerset West tourism buro, as well as any of the 24 wine farms. The festival starts at 10:00, and the sundowner concert (included in ticket-price) at 18:00. Lots of secure parking! Assistance for medical emergencies will be available.
