Sniffing out the best cellars.
Wine scribes, restaurateurs and oenophiles anticipate the annual Juliet Cullinan Satndard Bank Wine Fetsival from 21 to 22 July with relish.

This is the festival where you will discover handcrafted wines reflecting the uniqueness of their terroir.

As always, the established, international wineries will be there as well as rising stars, providing ample opportunity to seek out new labels at affordable prices.

A large group of loyal wine tasters will continue to bring their knowledge and discerning palates to the 12-year-old festival, while the wine producers themselves see the event as an opportunity to make contacts, build friendships and interact with appreciative drinkers.

While the emphasis will be on red wines, there will certainly be no shortage of whites, Ports, dessert and sparkling wines.

The spacious, state-of-the-art venue with white marble floors and a triple volume ceiling makes this an ideal venue for meaningful wine tasting. I encourage you to spit, and refrain from wearing strong fragrances and aftershave which affect the subtle nuances of the wines.

When arriving at The Campus, look for the secure underground parking in The Forum Building.

Tickets at R80 per person includes a free wine tasting glass, catalogue, unlimited tastings and an evening of unrivaled pleasure.

Standard Bank is sponsoring the event for the forth year running, again proving that 'great ideas don't keep office hours'. Festival doors open from 17h30 - 21h30 and tickets will be available at the door.
