The 2004 harvest has a lot of promise ... amongst others, Shirazes with good colour and structure! The Paarl-area is known for its high quality Shiraz wines and this year will be no exception. The grapes are picked at sugars of 25 - 26 Balling. The same goes for the other varietals! Cabernet Sauvignons show deep colours and the Sauvignon Blancs and Chenin Blancs have lots of fruit on the nose. But of course the proof is in the 'tasting'. The white wines will be ready from end of May, whilst the reds will only be available much later.
When you see our new, very fresh looking label - dark green on top and apple green at the bottom for the white wines; deep yellow on top with burgundy at bottom for reds - know that you have the right wine. It is our new Simonsvlei Lifestyle range. It replaces Mount Marble. With the Simonsvlei logo printed in gold on the label, we assure you that we keep to our motto: quality wines at affordable prices. From May 1, 2004 you will find our brand new label on the shelf of your favourite liquor store or super market ... or when eating out.
• Hercules Paragon is the top of our range of wines. Since the launch of this premium range in 1997, it was received with much acclaim both locally and internationally. Only our very best quality goes into this range. We currently have two reds, a Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz selling at R59,00 per bottle (vat included) and a white, Sauvignon Blanc selling for R53,00 per bottle (vat included). Quantities are limited and only available at the cellar.
• The Simonsvlei Classic label carries the noble grape varietals (with the exception of Chenin Blanc and Bukettraube); It sells between R16,20 (Simonsblanc) and R33,00 (Cabernet; Shiraz) per bottle (vat included). • Simonsvlei Lifestyle is tailor-made for easy drinking and offers excellent value-for-money wines, selling at R14,30 for the whites. Reds in this range will only be available by May 1st 2004. It will sell under R20,00 per bottle. The reds will include a Pinotage, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.
