Your opinion matters ...
Once a year the biggest wine magazine in the world – Wine Spectator, in the USA – devotes an issue to what its readers think.

The opinions of South African vinophiles are no less valued, as shown by SA’s own specialist publication, WINE magazine, which has called on wine lovers to state their views on a broad range of wine-related questions.

Wines, wineries, price points, value-for-money wines and fine dining all come under the spotlight in the wide-ranging survey. Local wine enthusiasts – generally vocal on the subject they’re most passionate about – are called on to list their preferred wines, to rate SA’s top red and white wines, to give their opinions on the most underrated and overrated wines, who makes the best bubbly and where the most beautiful wineries are to be found.

The survey gives wine enthusiasts the chance to voice their views on controversial topics like whether South Africa has an icon wine, what should be included in a Cape Blend and the most effective form of wine closures.

To sweeten the deal, the most interesting, thought-provoking or entertaining response will earn one wine lover a 6-bottle case of Vergelegen's award winning red blend, Vergelegen 2000.

Responses can be returned (before 31 March) online on WINE’s website, www.winemag.co.za, or on the forms included with the magazine’s March issue.
