Asara harvest news
Activities are gearing up and excitement is in the air at harvest time. Quality starts in the vineyards and our farm manager Pieter Rousseau and his team are doing an excellent job all year round to ensure that Asara grapes brought into the cellar are at their best and full of flavour. Congratulations to Pieter as well for the success in the 2004 vintage Vineyard Competition.

Harvest on Asara started on 3rd of February in the early hours of the morning with Chardonnay and continued with Sauvignon Blanc from February 5th to11th. Weather is a crucial factor now and we were happy to see that the Sauvignon Blanc maintained its flavour despite of the heat wave that struck the area. Pinotage, and more of the Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay will arrive at the cellar door next, and then, again, the age-old cycle of making fine wines can begin...

New on the team
High season means hard work and long hours for sales as well. Gourmet evenings with Asara Wines and tastings are on the agenda. Our new colleagues have taken up the challenge with enthusiasm. Michelle van Niekerk (sales), Brian Cuttler (sales), Christiane Ludewig-Berg (marketing) and Andrew Imrie (logistics) joined the team.
