We were honoured to serve our wines at this event held just down the road from our estate which attracted guests, both local and international from the political, celebrity and commercial arenas. This prestigious event which took place in November was inspired by Gary Player with the primary focus of raising funds for the Nelson Mandela Childrens Fund as well as the Player Foundation. Guests enjoyed our Chardonnay 2003, Chenin Banc 2003, Cabernet Franc Merlot 2002 and Merlot 2000 at the impressive Gala dinner. Those of you privileged enough to fly SAA First and Premium classes, or who have sufficient air miles to up grade, will now be able to enjoy our wines during your flight. In the cellar we have just finished bottling our 2003 reds. This year we are introducing an easy drinking red to match our Caresse Marine dry white. The blend is 58% Pinotage, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon and 24% Cabernet Franc. A very drinkable combination.In the vineyards, we have had a long, hot dry summer, we have worked hard on the vines ensuring the crops are light, to improve even further the fruit quality in our wines.
