Another month has flown by, and September has given us plenty to celebrate at Flagstone Wines. From trophy wins to an incredible collection of medals, we’re proud to share some of the latest achievements from our wines and winemaking team.
We’re delighted to share that our Truth Tree Pinotage 2023 was awarded the Bidvest Trophy for Best Pinotage at the 2026 Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards. It’s a fantastic recognition for this proudly South African variety and a special achievement for everyone behind the wine
The good news didn’t stop there. The Music Room Cabernet Sauvignon 2024 and Treaty Tree Classique White 2025 were both awarded Double Gold, with a further 11 Gold medals awarded across the Flagstone range. A result we’re incredibly proud of and a wonderful recognition of the wines we continue to produce.
We also celebrated another successful showing at the 2026 Stellenbosch Young Wine Show, where Flagstone walked away with three trophies. Our Wooded Pinotage, Sauvignon Blanc and Grenache Noir, entered in the Other Red Cultivar category, each received a trophy. It’s an exciting result for our current vintage wines and another proud moment for the Flagstone Wines winemaking team.

Meet our new assistant winemaker, Thian Basson
We are proud to share that Thian Basson has been appointed assistant winemaker at Flagstone.
If you’ve been following us on social media, you’ll have seen Thian hard at work in the cellar. And if you visited our Tasting Room in previous years, there’s a good chance you’ll remember him from behind the counter too.
It’s been wonderful to see his journey at Flagstone continue, and we’re proud to have him step into this new role. We look forward to seeing what Thian and the winemaking team bring to the next vintage.
