A relaxed day out at Perdeberg designed to bring together award-winning wine, great food, live music and plenty of fun for the whole family.
Set against the backdrop of the Paarl Winelands, this year’s festival promises to be bigger and more family-friendly than ever, with live music, an expanded selection of local vendors, a special VIP lounge, and two dedicated kiddies areas, ensuring that both young and old have plenty to look forward to.
Gates open at 10h00, with live entertainment getting underway at 10h30. Three artists will take to the stage throughout the day, with performances scheduled throughout the day until 15h00, giving festival-goers plenty of time to settle in, enjoy the atmosphere and make a day of it.
For wine lovers, the festival offers the opportunity to sample Perdeberg’s award-winning wines while enjoying food from STEEN Restaurant at Perdeberg. Water, cold drinks and other alcoholic beverages will also be available, making it easy for families and groups of friends to spend the day together.
The festival’s expanded market offering will add another dimension to the experience, with carefully selected local vendors showcasing everything from artisanal breads and sauces to jewellery, gifts and other curios. It’s an opportunity not only to browse and shop, but also to support local makers and small businesses.
Something for the little ones
While parents enjoy a glass of wine and the live music, children will have plenty to keep them occupied. This year, Perdeberg is introducing two monitored kiddies areas catering for children of different ages. The outdoor area, situated under the main tent, will feature jumping castles, soft play, Swing Ball, a mini tennis court, face painting, a jungle gym and kiddies rides. Inside the Chenin Hall, youngsters can enjoy a movie station, clay station, face painting, Corn in the Hole and other games.
With so many activities on offer, the Family Festival is designed to make the Winelands accessible to the whole family, giving children their own space to play while adults enjoy the food, wine and entertainment.
The kiddies tickets cost R85 each.
Make it a VIP day out
For those looking to elevate their festival experience, the new VIP Lounge ticket is R350 and includes a goodie bag, branded tasting glass, 10 tasting coupons, food coupons and a Branded Perdeberg Panama Hat. VIP guests can relax under the pergola with comfortable seating close to the cellar.
Standard tickets are R199 and include a branded tasting glass and 10 tasting coupons.
For those who prefer not to drink alcohol, or who will be the responsible driver for the day, Designated Driver tickets are R125. These guests will receive a branded tasting glass and can enjoy all the festivities without the wine tastings.
