Behind the scenes, our estate is undergoing an exciting transformation as we create an entirely new Kleine Zalze brand home and hospitality experience, set to be revealed in March 2027.
There is still much we are keeping under wraps, but as we move into this next chapter, a few changes are happening along the way.
One last lunch before the break
The Kleine Zalze Restaurant as you know and love it will have its last day of service on Sunday, 30 August 2026.
But this is certainly not goodbye.
Our restaurant will take a break for the month of September, giving our hospitality team some well-deserved time to recharge – and, importantly, to create something fresh for summer.
Then, on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, we return with the Kleine Zalze Summer Pop-Up.
Set in the garden beneath the trees, just below our current restaurant patio, it will be a relaxed, al fresco expression of Kleine Zalze created especially for the warmer months.
Chef Nic van Wyk and the team are using September to create something completely new for the summer season. We are keeping the menu under wraps for now, but expect relaxed, generous food with plenty of character, a few unexpected twists and a strong focus on cooking over fire and from the wood-fired oven. There is a lot being tested, tasted and refined behind the scenes – and we know it will be worth the wait.
We will be sharing a few glimpses throughout September. For now, consider this your first taste of what is coming.
The Summer Pop-Up will operate on a walk-in basis only, with no reservations.
Until 30 August 2026, you can still book a final lunch in our current restaurant.

Our Tasting Room is moving too
While work continues on our new brand home, our Tasting Room will also be getting a temporary new address.
Our current Tasting Room will close on Monday, 31 August 2026 while we make the move, reopening on Tuesday, 1 September 2026 – just in time for spring.
You will find our new Tasting Room Pop-Up a little further along on your left, in front of the winery.
Think sunshine, greenery, good wine and a relaxed new setting. Our team will be there throughout the season to welcome you for wine tastings, cheese and charcuterie platters, and all the Kleine Zalze warmth you know.

These pop-ups are only the beginning of a much bigger story at Kleine Zalze.
Over the coming months, we’ll start revealing more of what is taking shape behind the scenes as we count down to the opening of our new hospitality home in March 2027.
Until then, summer at Kleine Zalze will have a new rhythm – relaxed, generous and full of things to look forward to.
