Winter on the slopes of Delheim Wine Estate has long been synonymous with crackling fires, warm hospitality and the comforting aroma of bubbling cheese fondue.
This year, the perennially popular Music and Cheese Fondue Winter Experience returns to Delheim from Sunday, 5 July to 30 August, offering visitors an irresistible blend of live music, fine wine and hearty seasonal fare.
Taking place every Sunday afternoon from 12h00 to 15h00, the series brings together an eclectic line-up of talented musicians whose performances will transform Delheim’s cosy restaurant into a lively winter stage. Guests can expect a diverse musical journey spanning traditional Bavarian and German melodies, Afro-jazz rhythms, soulful vocals and contemporary pop favourites — a fitting accompaniment to one of the Cape’s most iconic winter dining experiences.
At the heart of the afternoon is Delheim’s legendary three-course cheese fondue feast, a culinary ritual that has drawn visitors to the estate for decades. Guests are welcomed with a steaming glass of traditional glühwein on arrival, followed by a table appetiser before settling into the main event: a generous pot of melted cheese served with fresh bread and seasonal vegetables. The meal concludes with coffee and decadent brownies, rounding off a leisurely afternoon of comfort and conviviality.
Delheim’s acclaimed range of wines will be available at cellar-door prices, allowing guests to explore the estate’s award-winning portfolio while enjoying the music and mountain views.
