Perdeberg is raising a glass to another proud achievement following the announcement of the Investec Trophy Wine Show results, where three of its wines were recognised.

Leading the accolades was the G.O.A.T. Greatest of All Time Chenin Blanc 2025, which earned an exceptional 96 points and a gold medal at the Investec Trophy Wine Show 2026, reaffirming Perdeberg's reputation as one of South Africa's leading producers of Chenin Blanc. The winery also received Silver Medals for the Dry Land Collection Tenacious Syrah 2024 (92 points) and the Endura Winemaker's Selection Cape Blend 2023 (90 points).

For Perdeberg Wines, however, the spotlight shines brightest on the G.O.A.T. Chenin Blanc. A wine that reflects both the character of the Paarl region and the winery's long-standing commitment to crafting expressive, world-class Chenin Blancs.

The 2025 vintage presented ideal conditions for quality. While the harvest yielded slightly smaller volumes due to dry conditions during late summer and harvest, the vines responded by producing grapes with concentrated flavours, excellent natural acidity and remarkable balance.

The wine originates from 41- and 48-year-old bush vines growing in decomposed granite soils on the slopes surrounding Perdeberg. Farmed under dryland conditions and relying solely on natural rainfall, these mature vineyards naturally produce smaller berry clusters with intense flavour concentration and freshness, qualities that have become synonymous with Perdeberg's wines.

Careful handling in the cellar ensured that the exceptional fruit quality was preserved. The grapes were hand-harvested in the cool early morning hours and received a short period of skin contact before fermentation. The majority of the wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness and purity of fruit, while a small portion underwent natural fermentation in French oak barrels, adding layers of complexity and texture. Six months of lees ageing completed the wine, resulting in a beautifully balanced Chenin Blanc with richness, elegance and vibrant acidity.

The gold medal-winning G.O.A.T. Chenin Blanc is a wine made for sharing and celebrating. Fresh and complex, it is equally at home enjoyed on its own as an aperitif or paired with seafood paella, creamy pasta dishes or a relaxed pizza evening with friends and family.

"Receiving this recognition for our G.O.A.T. Greatest of All Time Chenin Blanc is incredibly rewarding," says Andri le Roux, winemaker at Perdeberg Wines. "Chenin Blanc is at the heart of who we are as a winery, and this award reflects the dedication of our vineyard and cellar teams, as well as the unique character of our dryland vineyards."

The latest accolades further strengthen Perdeberg Wines' position as a producer of distinctive wines that capture the essence of their origin while remaining approachable and enjoyable for wine lovers everywhere.
