Alto Estate's 2016 vintage was characterised by a dry, warm growing season and a smaller crop in Stellenbosch. The smaller berries gave rise to exceptional flavour and colour concentration, which formed the base for a great vintage.

Alto Estate Blend 2016
Our Estate Blend 2016 was crafted in a Bordeaux style consisting of majority Cabernet Sauvignon with Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
Aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry and rich cedar lead into a layered palate where each component contributes depth and complexity. Structured, integrated and beautifully balanced, this wine speaks to the craftsmanship behind every Alto blend.

Alto M.P.H.S 2016
One of the rarest wines ever produced by Alto, the M.P.H.S. 2016 holds a particularly special place in our history. Produced in limited quantities, this was the wine that earned Alto its first-ever 5-star rating in the Platter’s Wine Guide in 2023.
Made only in exceptional vintages, the 2016 M.P.H.S. is a powerful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Intense aromas of blackcurrant, leather and Helderberg fynbos unfold into a richly layered palate.
