Introducing The First Flower Chenin Blanc
Neethlingshof's Short Story Collection wines are inspired by the people, places and moments woven into the estate’s history.
Today, we proudly introduce the newest wine in this collection, The First Flower Chenin Blanc 2025.
Inspired by Maria Magdalena Marais, the estate’s first matriarch, and the six flowers she carved into the manor house in 1814 to represent herself and her five children, this wine honours motherhood, resilience and the beauty of beginnings.
It also pays homage to the land itself. The Babiana flower on the label, an endangered species of the Renosterveld, reminds us of the importance of protecting what came before us so it may continue to flourish for generations to come.
