Introducing the Impilo Yabafazi Clinic

We at Pebbles Project are delighted to share the launch of our brand new Women's Health Mobile Clinic, sponsored by Texas Children's Global. The mobile clinic brings essential healthcare directly to women across the Western Cape at no cost. This safe and confidential service ensures that women can access vital preventative care and support within their own communities.

Services offered include:

  • Pap smears (ages 21+)
  • Breast screening
  • Family planning services
  • HIV testing
  • Health education
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Blood glucose (sugar) tests
  • Cholesterol tests

To date, 54 women accessed cervical, breast, and HIV screenings, supporting early detection and referral for care. The Impilo Yabafazi Mobile Clinic is empowering women to take charge of their health and wellbeing with dignity and confidence.

New youth development centre

A new Youth Development Centre is currently being built on Villiera Wine Farm in Stellenbosch. The centre, sponsored by the Stichting Garcia Foundation, will respond to the growing need for support and skills development within the farming communities we serve.

Once completed, it will provide a dedicated space to implement our Youth Development Programme, empowering young people aged 15 to 25 with the skills and opportunities they need to build brighter futures.

Farewell to the Grier family

We would like to thank the Grier family and extend our farewell wishes to them as they officially retired from Villiera last week.

Simon, Jeff, Cathy, and Julian first welcomed Pebbles Project into their Early Childhood Development centre on Villiera in 2005. In 2008, they gave us a permanent home on the farm, now our Programmes Office, creating the foundation from which so much of our work has grown. Since then, their support has enabled us to expand and develop vital infrastructure, including our clinic, pods, soap programme, and youth development initiatives. Beyond this, they also covered essential operational costs, making a lasting impact on our organisation.

When the farm was sold three years ago, they ensured that Pebbles Project would remain part of the farm’s future a condition that speaks volumes about their commitment to our mission and the communities we serve.

The Grier family have supported Pebbles wholeheartedly from the very beginning, and we know that without them and our home on Villiera, our growth and impact would not be where it is today. From all of us at Pebbles Project: THANK YOU for believing in us, supporting us, and being such an important part of our journey.
