The human element

What makes a farm truly exceptional? For Joan Adonis, it's simple: "Onse mense" – our people. Having spent 25 years at Groot Phesantekraal, Joan's journey from vineyard worker to frontwoman and head of the farm's butchery reflects not only personal growth, but the deep sense of community that defines life on the farm. Her story is one of passion, resilience and pride, shaped by the people she works alongside every day.

Set on the outskirts of Durbanville, our legacy stretches back to 1698, but its true strength lies in its people and shared purpose. From a growing, multi-generational family business to a close-knit team on the ground, it's a story of dedication, opportunity and progress.
