Steenberg
A stay at Steenberg is shaped by the farm itself. Guests are not visiting a standalone hotel, but a location where accommodation, food, wine, wellness, and open spaces coexist.

Shorter, restorative breaks are increasingly shaping travel choices. A global travel report shows that bookings for trips of four days or less have grown by 34% in the past year, reflecting a rising preference for meaningful experiences without long-haul travel (Trip.com Group Travel Trend Report 2026).

In response, Steenberg Hotel and Spa, situated in the Constantia Valley just 20 minutes from Cape Town, is offering two seasonal packages designed to give guests a complete experience, even within a short stay. Recognised internationally, the hotel received a Michelin Key in the ‘very special stay’ category in 2025, highlighting its unique combination of design, service, and setting.

“The idea behind both the Five Lives and Sacred Sanctuary packages is to give visitors a sense of the farm as a complete destination,” says Jessica Louw, marketing manager at Steenberg Hotel & Spa. “Guests can experience accommodation, dining, wine tasting, spa treatments, and the open landscapes all in one visit, rather than as isolated activities.”

The Five Lives Package offers a one-night escape, built around variety and choice. It is structured to unfold across an afternoon and evening, with time for a wine tasting, spa experience and dinner, followed by an overnight stay and breakfast the next morning before departure.

“It’s often the contrast that guests enjoy most,” Louw notes. “A morning of calm followed by lunch on the terrace, then a spa treatment, or a late afternoon tasting. It allows each stay to be shaped by the mood of the moment.” The package reflects a broader trend toward short, meaningful getaways, offering a sense of immersion without requiring long travel.

The Sacred Sanctuary Package focuses on wellness and slower travel over two nights. Guests enjoy daily breakfast, spa experiences, and access to the Thermal Suite and heated pool, alongside flexible dining credits.

“Luxury travel is no longer about packing in as much activity as possible,” explains Louw. “This package is about creating space to rest, enjoy the surroundings, and move at your own pace. It reflects the growing interest in wellness travel where rest, calm and slower mornings are as valued as curated experiences.”

Steenberg is a working farm with vineyards, restaurants, and open landscapes. Its location near Cape Town offers convenience, but the moment guests arrive, the pace shifts. “You’re close to the city, but the environment changes as soon as you enter Steenberg Farm,” says Louw.

Mountain bike access across the 300-hectare farm, flexible dining credits, and Wi-Fi throughout the property allow visitors to move freely and personalise their time. The packages are designed to simplify the stay: spa and dining credits are applied directly to room accounts, so experiences can be enjoyed without administrative effort.

A stay at Steenberg is shaped by the farm itself. Guests are not visiting a standalone hotel, but a location where accommodation, food, wine, wellness, and open space coexist. “The farm’s character creates a layered experience,” Louw explains. “Whether it’s time spent on a mountain bike ride, a tasting at the vineyard, or a quiet morning in the room, guests are offered a variety of experiences within a single visit.”

Both the Five Lives and Sacred Sanctuary packages offer the chance to step away from the city, explore the farm, and focus on restorative time.

Whether it’s a single night of varied experiences, or a couple of nights of slow and wellness-focused relaxation, these short escapes prove that meaningful travel does not require long distances or extended time away. From quiet mornings overlooking vineyards to immersive wine tastings, spa treatments, and open landscapes, each stay is designed to leave guests feeling refreshed, reconnected and inspired.
