Wine Tourism South Africa
If wine tourism provides a revenue stream your winery would like to optimize – through tastings, events, hospitality, accommodation or direct-to-consumer sales – then you need to be a part of this conversation.

The 10th South African Wine Tourism Conference takes place 19-21 May 2026 at Cavalli Estate in Stellenbosch, bringing together estate owners, tourism leaders and global experts to explore how wine destinations can remain competitive in an increasingly experience-driven tourist market.

Wine tourism is evolving rapidly. Visitors expect more than a tasting - they want memorable experiences, authentic stories and places worth returning to. The estates that understand how to design these experiences are the ones building stronger brands, higher visitor spend and long-term customer loyalty.

At this year’s conference, you’ll hear from industry leaders including:

  • Damien Joubert-Winn - Delaire Graff Estate
  • Andrew Kamphuis - Commerce7
  • Carolyn Martin - Creation Wines
  • Mike Ratcliffe - Vilafonté Vineyards and Wine Business Advisors chairman
  • Annabelle Shreuders - Spier Wine Farm Hospitality
  • Desry Lesele - Nedbank Commercial Banking
  • Craig McClenaghan - Craig McClenaghan Architecture
  • Beverly Farmer - Women in Wine, CEO

... and other leading voices shaping the future of wine tourism. Meet more of our speakers HERE

Across two conference days and an immersive Wine Experience Day on leading estates, we’ll explore practical strategies for:

  • Growing visitor demand
  • Designing experiences guests remember and return for
  • Converting tourism into long-term customer relationships
  • Building more resilient and profitable wine tourism businesses.
  • Understanding Return on Investment from tourism experiences and building a revenue diversification strategy

Programme overview

Day 1

Designing Demand & Desire
Focus on the front end of value. We explore experience design, wellness, and storytelling to ensure guests feel, remember, and return.

Day 2

Designing for Endurance
Focus on the back end of value. We tackle the hard realities of finance, capital, and governance. This is where we move from marketing sustainability to visible accountability.

Day 3
