Steenberg
From early morning harvests to an intimate jazz night, find out what's happening at Steenberg this summer.

As 2026 settles in, harvest is already in full swing at Steenberg

In the early morning, the vineyards are alive with quiet focus: teams moving through the rows, tasting berries, checking ripeness, selecting each block at just the right moment. Crates fill, tractors move, and by midday the cellar begins to hum – grapes arriving, juice running, the first signs of a new vintage taking shape

If you visit the estate now for a tasting, a meal, a spa treatment or a stay, you are here while this work is unfolding around you. You might glimpse picking in the vineyards, see bins waiting at the cellar doors, or simply feel the gentle energy of a farm in its most vital season.

It is a short, vivid moment in the year – summer at its height, a new vintage being born. We invite you to experience the harvest at Steenberg this season.

A new year escape, seen from above

Begin the year with a stay that sees Steenberg from every angle.

In partnership with NAC Cape Town, Steenberg Takes Flight pairs a scenic helicopter journey with an unhurried stay at Steenberg Hotel and Spa. Choose between a City & Coast loop or a longer Cape Peninsula panorama, tracing ocean, mountain and vineyards in full summer below you. Then return to the quiet of the Constantia Valley: contemporary suites among the vines, breakfast at Tryn or Bistro Sixteen82, a bottle of Steenberg wine on arrival, a flagship tasting, time in the spa and a space to explore the farm at your own pace.

Two thoughtfully curated one-night options with the opportunity to extend your stay or add dining and spa enhancements make this a considered way to experience harvest season from every angle.

An evening of music, wine, and valley air

This March, Steenberg hosts an intimate night of jazz on the farm: one evening only, with live music, Steenberg wines in hand and Constantia’s soft night air settling over the valley.

It is a relaxed, refined summer evening rather than a concert – a glass, a plate, a view and music that seems to rise out of the landscape. While you listen, wines from past harvests are in your glass, and the 2026 vintage rests quietly in the cellar.

We invite you to join us for Jazz at Steenberg this late summer.

Cool-climate freshness of summer tables

While harvest is in motion, many of the grapes destined for Steenberg’s Sauvignon Blancs are being picked now.

On our cool, south-facing slopes, the team tastes and tests constantly – watching acidity, flavour and sugar to decide when each block should come in. These decisions in the vineyard and cellar give Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc its clarity: bright citrus and stone fruit, a gentle tropical lift and a defined mineral line.

This is the moment when these wines feel most at home on the table: chilled alongside seafood, seasonal salads, grilled vegetables, fresh cheeses and shared dishes.

You can explore our Sauvignon Blancs in tasting flights at the Tasting Room, by the glass at our restaurants, or at home as part of your own summer gatherings.

A new year, a new vintage

Thank you for beginning 2026 with Steenberg – in the vineyards, in the cellar, at the table, and in all the quiet spaces in between.

We look forward to sharing this harvest season and the wines it will become with you in the months and years ahead.
