Valentine’s Day at Nederburg is an invitation to slow down, reconnect and enjoy good food and wine in a setting that feels both special and unpretentious. Whether you’re planning a romantic evening meal or a relaxed afternoon on the lawns, the farm offers a range of ways to spend 14 February, each designed to be shared and savoured.
A Valentine's dinner to remember
As evening falls over the vineyards, guests joining us for our Valentine’s Dinner will be welcomed with freshly shucked oysters and a glass of Nederburg Cap Classique – a crisp and celebratory beginning to the night. Dinner will be served under the trees, with the option to move inside the historic Manor House should the weather call for it.
The menu offers a fresh take on some much-loved retro classics, updated with a lighter, contemporary touch.
Dinner begins with freshly baked artisanal bread, served warm with whipped butter, before moving on to a reimagined prawn cocktail. Succulent prawns are paired with a silky Marie Rose dressing, layered with fresh leaves, ripe avocado and a hint of lemon, and matched with our Nederburg Rosé.
For the main course, a flambé beef fillet mignon is expertly seared and finished tableside, offering both flavour and a sense of occasion. It’s served with Parmesan duchess potatoes and seasonal fine greens, and paired with Nederburg The Manor House Shiraz.
Dessert rounds off the evening with peaches and cream pavlova – crisp, light meringue with a soft marshmallow centre, topped with whipped cream, vanilla-scented peaches and a bright raspberry coulis.

A relaxed Valentine's picnic on the lawns
For those who prefer something more informal, our Valentine’s Day picnic offers a laid-back way to celebrate love, surrounded by vines and open skies. Guests are invited to unwind on the lawns and enjoy a thoughtfully curated picnic, perfect for sharing at your own pace.
The picnic begins with an artisan picnic board, featuring a selection of locally sourced cheeses paired with marinated olives, seasonal fresh fruit and homemade onion marmalade, served alongside crisp lavash.
This is complemented by freshly baked artisanal bread, accompanied by whipped, flavoured butter.
For mains and salads, guests can look forward to:
- Sun-dried tomato and cream cheese chicken roulade, tender and delicately flavoured
- Beetroot and red onion salad with a light yoghurt dressing
- Sweet potato, cranberry and feta quinoa salad, finished with parsley and a gentle citrus lift
To end on a sweet note, the picnic includes silky chocolate pots de crème, served with strawberries dipped in rich dark chocolate.

If you’re looking for something easy-going and spontaneous, our Courtyard offering is perfect for a casual Valentine’s celebration. Share a pizza made for two, accompanied by two glasses of wine, and enjoy complimentary macarons – simple, cheerful and made for lingering conversations.
