This festive season, we invite you to spend time at Steenberg – where thoughtful dishes and the care of our team shape each visit. At Tryn, Bistro Sixteen82 and the Tasting Room, our people are preparing for a season of shared tables, summer lunches and New Year’s Eve dinners – with one dedicated celebration at Tryn, and Bistro Sixteen82 also open for evening service.
The people behind every festive moment
Behind every arrival, every poured glass and every plate leaving the pass is a Steenberg team member who holds the moment with care. In the kitchens at Tryn and Bistro Sixteen82, and in the Tasting Room, the rhythm of the season is felt in small ways.
There are greetings exchanged in the early light before service begins, quiet conversations at the coffee station, and a shared laugh as the first guests arrive. Hands polish glassware and fold napkins; others tie aprons and check every place setting one last time. As guests settle in with family and friends, our teams move with focus and warmth – present, but never imposing.
This is the heart of Steenberg’s restaurants at festive time: people who look after one another, so that they can look after you.

Summer afternoons at Bistro Sixteen82
Summer at Bistro Sixteen82 is made for long, easy lunches. Light moves across stone and glass, doors open to the gardens, and tables fill with plates made for sharing – crisp, bright dishes, tapas between friends, a chilled glass of Steenberg Méthode Cap Classique or Sauvignon Blanc. It is the Constantia table for lingering a little longer.

New Year's Eve at Tryn
On New Year’s Eve, Steenberg gathers at Tryn for a considered celebration to welcome 2026. A set multi-course menu unfolds through the evening, while a magician moves quietly between tables and live music holds the room. As midnight approaches, some guests rise to dance, others stay seated with a glass in hand – a calm, elegant close to the year on our Constantia estate.

As this year draws to a close, I am deeply grateful for every guest who has chosen to dine with us – at Tryn and Bistro Sixteen82. It is a privilege to cook for you, to welcome you back, and to be part of your everyday meals and your celebrations.

Our operating hours remain unchanged throughout the festive season, except on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

- Tasting Room: closed
1 January
- Bistro Sixteen82: open 12:00 – 22:00
- Tasting Room: open 11:00 – 18:00 (last tasting at 17:00)
