Formerly known under a different name, STEEN represents a refreshed identity, a renewed passion, and an exciting new culinary chapter, while still honouring the elements our guests have always loved: warm service, beautiful surroundings, and award-winning wine.
Why STEEN? A name steeped in South African heritage
Did you know? Chenin Blanc was among the first cuttings brought to South Africa by Jan van Riebeeck, and it was initially known as “Steendruif”, later becoming known as “Steen”.
Perdeberg has long been celebrated as the Home of Chenin Blanc. And so, when it came to choosing a name that truly reflects who we are, the choice was obvious. “Steen” is the historic South African name for Chenin Blanc, one of the country’s most cherished and versatile varietals.
With this rebrand, we pay tribute not only to our heritage but to the journey “from soil to soul,” our new guiding slogan. It captures everything we believe in: wine and food that begin in the earth, crafted with care, and shared with the intention to nourish and delight.
A menu as inviting as the name
With the new look comes an updated Summer Menu, created to celebrate local flavours and seasonal ingredients. Visitors can look forward to a diverse selection of favourites, thoughtfully designed to complement our wines and accommodate every type of guest.

- Tapas perfect for sharing over a glass of wine (or a bottle of wine)
- Steaks grilled to perfection and paired perfectly with our Dry Land collection Syrah or Joseph’s Legacy.
- Burgers crafted with premium ingredients as an everyday favourite.
- Pizzas straight from our ovens, or try out our Chenin & Pizza pairing to experience the best of both worlds.
- Fresh Salads brimming with colour and flavour, and just what you need this summer, paired with our Vineyard Collection Grenache Blanc.
- Kiddies’ meals, including our fun DIY Kiddie Pizza, a favourite among young chefs in the making. Add the cupcake tasting to make sure your kids go home with a smile
Indulge in our mouth-watering pizzas seven days a week (Monday to Sunday), and enjoy the full dining experience with our complete menu from Wednesday to Sunday.
A new ambience, familiar warmth
The transformation to STEEN brings a fresh aesthetic, lighter, brighter, and inspired by natural textures, yet the essence remains unchanged. Guests will still be greeted with the same heartfelt hospitality and attentive service that have made our restaurant a beloved destination. And of course, our curated selection of wines continues to showcase the quality and character our visitors know and love.
