Located beneath the slopes of the Simonsberg, QUARTZ is a relaxed fine-dining restaurant that captures the essence of the estate – where wine, food, and nature exist in perfect harmony.
Taking its name from the quartz-rich soils that define the terroir of Quoin Rock's vineyards, the restaurant embodies clarity, refinement, and balance. Previously known as the Wine Lounge, the space has been reimagined into an intimate, light-filled setting that feels both contemporary and grounded, mirroring the radiance and beauty of quartz itself.
At the helm is chef Edmund Viljoen, whose impressive career spans from globe-trotting superyachts to the legendary Fat Duck under Heston Blumenthal. At QUARTZ, Edmund’s philosophy is simple yet profound – the wine leads, and the food follows. Each dish is crafted with the singular purpose of elevating Quoin Rock’s award-winning wines, drawing on flavours and textures that amplify the character of the glass in hand. Expect dishes that unfold like stories – layers of freshness, warmth, and finesse that evolve with every bite and sip.
With its combination of world-class cuisine, meticulous wine pairings, and an atmosphere of relaxed sophistication, QUARTZ promises to redefine fine dining in the Winelands.
Reservations can be made through the Quoin Rock reception: 021 888 4740.
