Tammy Claassen takes the lead in red winemaking
We welcome Tammy Claassen as our new red winemaker, stepping into the role with passion, humility and a deep sense of purpose following the untimely passing of Wilhelm Coetzee. Having grown up on a fruit farm at the foothills of the Helderberg, Tammy’s love for the land and wine took root early, nurtured by her family’s shared dedication to the industry.
A Stellenbosch University graduate with a BSc Agric degree in Viticulture and Oenology and Cape Winemakers Guild Protégé alumna, she brings a philosophy of minimal intervention winemaking, guided by the quality of the fruit and a love for Shiraz and Chenin Blanc.

A century of Pinotage: South Africa’s homegrown classic
This October marks 100 years of Pinotage, South Africa’s very own cultivar, first created in 1925 by Professor Abraham Izak Perold through the crossing of Pinot Noir and Cinsault. Today, Pinotage stands as a true expression of our culture - perfect for sharing over a braai under starlit skies.
Celebrate the milestone with our Collectors Reserve The Promenade Pinotage 2023, a gold-medal winner at Veritas, Michelangelo, and Decanter (96 points!), or indulge in the limited-edition 1.5-litre Durbanville Wine Valley Pinotage 2024, commemorating Durbanville’s bicentenary and a century of Pinotage. Presented in a striking blue-and-gold gift box at R1 200.
Plus, enjoy 10% off all Pinotage wines online until 31 October 2025.
