This year saw a new pinnacle trophy, the Investec Champion Winemaker of the Year, for the cellarmaster responsible for making the most awarded wines of the competition. Hagen Viljoen of Zevenwacht Wine Estate took home the trophy.

Now in its second year, the Fine Wine Awards aims to be the largest blind-tasting wine showcase and the most trusted guide for local wine enthusiasts. 15 Trophies were awarded to the highest-ranking wine in their category, and 59 wines won gold medals.
