When you visit La Motte this October, expect rose-inspired experiences and a beautiful seasonal art exhibition, a special Spring-time concert, garden talks, fynbos hikes, and even a way in which you can take our scents and stories home with you at the end of your visit!
Step into a rose
Our Spring and Summer exhibition, entitled ROSE’D opens in the La Motte Ateljee on 18 October 2025.
Guests are invited to step into the rose and to admire both its grandeur and delicacy, its eternal, yet fleeting beauty and all that is special about the season of the rose.
The exhibition showcases rose-inspired art by the acclaimed Heike Taschner Jeske and include monoprints, charcoal drawings, watercolours and ceramic sculptures. In addition to this immersive rose experience, artworks from an Open Call will be on featured display and available for purchase.

Sip on a rosé
A diverse and exciting series of floral-inspired workshops will be presented alongside La Motte’s new ROSE’D exhibition, while the rose and floral theme will extend to all the other experiences on La Motte as part of our summertime offering.
Expect a touch of rose in the Tasting Room with a special Vin de Joie Rosé and Turkish Delight pairing beautifully balancing the delicate flavours. More of a red wine drinker? The small percentage of Viognier in our Pierneef Atelier contributes floral nuances to the wine, so don't miss out on trying the latest vintage.
Aromas of rose can be found on the dessert menu at L'Ami Family Brasserie. And, of course, a lovely selection of floral, garden and rose inspired gifts, lifestyle and décor elements as well as beautiful treats in the Farm Shop and Spens.
Even the La Motte Bakery's popular patisserie has a rose-inspired addition to the decadent display with a rose entremet of chocolate sponge, strawberry mousse, sable disc, strawberry and rose confit, mirror glaze, and a delicate chocolate rose.

Music returns
La Motte's much-loved classical music concerts are back! Inspired by acclaimed mezzo-soprano and owner Hanneli Rupert-Koegelenberg's love for classical music, the summer series commences on 11 October with Spring is in the Air by acclaimed pianist, François du Toit.
La Motte's 1942 model C Steinway piano makes a welcome return to the stage with a programme of Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Debussy, and Strauss. Join us for dinner afterwards!
