Celebrate 100 Years of Pinotage with us!
There’s a real buzz at Simonsig, and in the wine world, as we mark 100 years of Pinotage! In 1925, Professor Abraham Perold planted the very first seeds of this proudly South African varietal. For the past 55 years, Simonsig has been part of this story, from the time our very first red wine, a Pinotage, was released in 1970. It’s been an exciting journey ever since, and this October, we invite you to celebrate the legacy of Pinotage with us.
A special tasting: Pinotage through the years
Throughout the month, join us for a special Pinotage vertical tasting at our tasting room. For R100 pp (a tribute to 100 years of Pinotage), you’ll taste three expressions of this cultivar: Pick of the Bunch, Redhill, and the Frans Malan Cape Blend. Each current release will be poured alongside the 2015 vintage.
