
Recipe: Glühwein with citrus
Serves 4-6 people
Ingredients
- 1 bottle of Babel Red
- 8 naartjies, 4 juiced and 4 halved
- thyme
- star anise
- cloves
- cardamom
- cinnamon quills
- vanillapod
- ⅓ cup honey
Method
- Place the wine, naartjie juice and halves, thyme spices, and vanilla in a large pot. Add honey to taste.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes, careful not to boil. If you prefer spicier glühwein, set aside to infuse for another 15–30 minutes.
- Reheat before serving. Garnish with dried or fresh naartjie slices.
