Durbanville Hills is raising a glass to global recognition. The wine farm’s Tangram White Blend 2023 has been awarded a 96-point score by Decanter, one of the world’s leading wine authorities, ranking it among the top 6 Sauvignon Blancs globally at the 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards.
To celebrate, the winery’s The Tangram Restaurant is hosting an immersive seven-course dinner on 14 August 2025 (13 August is already sold out). This exclusive 7 Tastes of Tangram occasion pairs fine food and storytelling with the flagship Tangram wines – the acclaimed Sauvignon Blanc-led white blend, and the Bordeaux-style red blend 2022, that also scored above 90 points. The wines are made under the leadership of Pieter-Niel Rossouw, cellarmaster at Durbanville Hills since 2023.
Inspired by the ancient Chinese tangram puzzle, the evening invites guests to explore how individual pieces – flavours, textures, elements, and setting – come together to form something greater than the sum of its parts. Each of the seven courses acts as a “tan” or piece in the puzzle, building a narrative through taste and experience.

What you’ll experience:
- A curated seven-course menu, with each course exploring how earth, fire, water and air influence both the cuisine and the winemaking process
- A double-volume dining venue with breathtaking views of Table Bay, Cape Town and Table Mountain
- Warm hospitality and storytelling woven into the evening’s flow
- Wines that express not just cool-climate terroir, but character and depth.
