Simonsig Family Vineyards
We’re delighted to announce that Nathan Valentine has joined the Simonsig winemaking team as of July 2025. Nathan takes on the role of winemaker responsible for our red wines, Chenin Blanc, and The Grapesmith collection.
A graduate of Elsenburg College, class of 2013, Nathan brings nearly a decade of winemaking experience, including international harvests in Spain, France, and the USA. With family roots in Stellenbosch and several years hands-on experience working in the region, Nathan brings an intimate understanding of the Stellenbosch terroir and the distinctive wines it produces. Over the years, he has built a reputation for thoughtful, quality-driven winemaking.
Nathan joins Danna de Jongh, who continues to head up our Cap Classique and other white winemaking, under the leadership of third-generation cellarmaster Michael Malan.
We’re excited to welcome Nathan into the Simonsig story of generations of winemaking excellence and look forward to the contributions he’ll bring to this new chapter in our cellar.
