This winter, the estate received 384mm of rain so far. Our dam is overflowing, reflecting nature's generosity, and we're delighted to announce a charming addition: a brand-new fountain gracing its waters. This elegant feature not only enhances our landscape but also contributes to improved water quality, natural aeration, and a thriving habitat for local birdlife and aquatic fauna.
Honouring heritage this Old Vine Day
Every year on 1 August, South Africa honours vineyards 35 years and older for their heritage, resilience, and the exceptional wines they produce. Certified by the Old Vine Project (OVP), these vines yield wines of great character and complexity.
At Jordan Wine Estate, we celebrate this legacy through our Timepiece range – wines made from vineyards planted by Ted Jordan in 1983. What began with Chenin and Sauvignon Blanc has expanded to include old vine Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, and Chardonnay, each crafted from single-vineyard blocks and matured in clay amphorae and seasoned oak.
To mark Old Vine Day, join us for a Timepiece Tasting – a 45-minute guided experience of four wines from our oldest vines.

New release alert: Cobblers Hill 2022
With the 2022 vintage, the Cobblers Hill presents a refined composition – crafted without Cabernet Franc, allowing other elements of the blend to take centre stage. This decision was driven by the exceptional character of our Merlot, which truly excelled during the harvest. During the blending process, the elegance of the Merlot was complemented by the depth of Cabernet Sauvignon with the delicate touch of the Petit Verdot, revealing a wine of remarkable balance and complexity. The final blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot, is perfect for enjoying in front of a roaring fireplace on a crisp cold winters evening!

Road update
It’s been a wet and chilly few weeks in the Cape Winelands, and all this rain has made it tricky for the team to stick to the roadworks schedule. That said, they’re grabbing every bit of sunshine they can to keep things moving forward.
Important notice: Temporary closure
Please note that the road leading to Jordan Wine Estate will be closed to the public on 29 July 2025, due to essential roadworks. As a result, the Estate will also be closed for the day. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we continue to improve access to the farm.
We’ll be back to welcome you from Wednesday, 30 July 2025. If you have any questions, feel free to WhatsApp Melanie Melvill on 071 416 2824.
Thanks for your support and patience!
