Guided Camellia Garden Walks
Visit our exquisite International Camellia Garden of Excellence, currently in full bloom with vibrant pink, white, and red flowers, on a guided walk and discussion with Richard and Chris, our expert horticulturists. Join us on Thursday, 31 July from 10h00-12h00 or Friday, 1 August from 10h00-12h00. Tickets cost R295 per person and include the guided walk, entrance to the estate and a tea / coffee and scone afterwards. Tickets are limited, so don't delay.
Discover the Rhône Valley Tutored Wine Tasting
Christo Deyzel, our resident sommelier, will explore the Rhône region in this tasting and will include a fantastic line up of wines showcasing the region’s style and grape varieties. The tasting takes place on Thursday, 31 July at 17h30 for 18h00 in our tasting room. Tickets cost R750 per person and include a glass of Vergelegen wine and canapés on arrival and the tutored tasting of a selection of sought-after international wines.
Saturday winter workshops in August
Cynaotype Printing
Under the guidance of printing expert, Claudia Schneider, students will forage on the farm for suitable subject matter, print their findings and see the wonder that is cyanotype on Saturday, 2 August from 09h00-12h00.
Tickets cost R1200 per person and include the workshop, all materials, refreshments and a high tea afterwards. Plus, students will take their beautiful prints home.
Orms Print Room Photobook Presentation
We’re delighted to welcome the Orms Print Room team for a special edition of their popular Photobook Presentation. Taking place on Saturday, 16 August from 09h00-13h00, this inspiring morning workshop invites guests to explore the art of creating a professionally designed photobook – all with expert guidance in a truly beautiful setting. Tickets cost R100 per person and are limited.

Our Namaqualand daisies are starting to bloom
Horticulturist Scott and his team have been hard at work since May, and now we are rewarded with a bright and cheerful field of Namaqualand daisies to brighten up these cold winter days. The flowers have started to bloom and will be at their peak this week. Remember they only show their happy faces when the sun shines, so keep an eye out for a sunny day if you plan on seeing them.
Vergelegen is open Monday to Sunday from 08h30 until 17h00 (last entry at 16h00).
