Flagstone's head winemaker Gerhard Swart is currently in Adelaide in Australia attending the Australian Wine Industry Technical Conference, one of the world's top technical gatherings for wine professeionals. An update on his trip will feature in next month's news.
In the cellar, the team is busy blending our new Truth Tree Pinotage, Treaty Tree Classique Red, and Dragon Tree Cape Blend wines, all set to be bottled in the first week of August.
Last week, we showcased our Writer’s Block Pinotage 2021 at Caroline’s Red Wine Review at the DHL Stadium's VIP Members Lounge in Cape Town. It was a fantastic celebration of South African reds and we were honoured to be part of it. What a night!
The week before, our tasting room manager Ilze Fouché and brand ambassador Tshidi Mamabolo hosted a tasting at Norman Goodfellows Fourways in Johannesburg, spreading the Flagstone story one glass at a time.

"Hi, I am Ilonka Laubscher, Assistant Winemaker at Flagstone Wines. I have been working here for 2 years now. My job is to help with all things related to making wine from grapes to glass. When I am not busy making wine, I like to spend time with my husband, family/friends enjoying time outdoors and maybe reading a good book."
