Renowned as one of the world’s most international wine competitions, the CMB brought together 375 experts from 56 nations to blind-taste over 7,000 wines across three days. With only 15 gold medals awarded to South African wines, this recognition is a powerful affirmation of our coastal approach to winemaking.

The Atlantic advantage
As seasons have shifted and growing conditions have evolved, we’ve found ourselves increasingly drawn to that narrow band between the cold Atlantic and temperate False Bay. Here, in vineyards cooled by ocean fog and shaped by coastal winds, grapes ripen slowly and develop the crisp acidity and elegant minerality that only maritime terroir can provide.
The Seaward collection represents our exploration of this coastal advantage. Working with talented growers and exceptional sites, we’re learning what these Atlantic influences can bring to the glass – and this international recognition suggests we’re on the right path.
Also awarded gold, our Creative Block 5 continues to shine as the most awarded wine in the Creative Block range. Grown within 10km of the False Bay coast, this Bordeaux-style blend of five varietals benefits from the same cool-climate conditions that enable slow, even ripening and rich fruit complexity.
A season of recognition
The gold medals come at a particularly exciting time, following cellarmaster Johan Jordaan being named Master Winemaker: Chenin Blanc in Paris, and our 21 Gables Chenin Blanc earning gold at the Decanter World Wine Awards. Together, these accolades demonstrate that our wines are capable of sharing the podium with the world’s finest.
