As the crisp embrace of winter settles over Elgin, the fruit trees and vines drift gently into their seasonal slumber. The rows of apple orchards rest peacefully; their summer labour is done, while deep roots hold steady through the cold.
Yet, while the vineyards and orchards sleep, life at Paul Clüver Family Wine Estate remains vibrant. Our Tasting Room is open daily, while Bloem Restaurant welcomes guests from Tuesday to Sunday – serving curated tastings, hearty breakfasts, and long, fireside lunches. The warmth of a log fire, the clink of a glass, and a view across misty hills await.
A Riesling revival: The 2025 vintage has arrived
We’re delighted to share the return of a beloved classic: the Paul Clüver Riesling 2025. This vintage represents a beautiful evolution of the varietal we first bottled almost 30 years ago.
Elegant, bright, and finely structured, the 2025 release is bursting with fragrant citrus blossom, lime, and subtle stone fruit underpinned by racy acidity and a touch of residual sugar that delivers both purity and persistence. Riesling has always held a special place in our estate story—thriving in the cool climate and Ferricrete soils of Elgin. This release reaffirms our belief in its unique ability to express place, vintage, and balance in a way few other varieties can.
Available now for tasting at the estate and through our online store.

Apples, wellness and Elgin’s quiet brilliance
Our farm isn’t just home to world-class wines. It’s also where some of the finest apples in the country are grown. And it turns out – science is catching up to what many have long believed: apples are remarkably good for your health.
A recent BBC Future article explores the long-debated question: Is an apple a day really good for your health? The answer? A firm yes, with modern research backing their benefits for gut health, heart wellness, and even longevity.
So whether you’re biting into a crisp Elgin apple, sipping on a Riesling with apple blossom aromatics, or strolling our orchards on a misty morning, you’re part of something nourishing – mind, body, and soul.
