Stellenbosch Reserve excels at 2025 Decanter Awards
We’re excited to share that Stellenbosch Reserve wines earned top results at this year’s Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA), the world’s largest and most respected wine competition. Hosted by the UK-based Decanter Magazine, the DWWA celebrates outstanding wines from around the globe. While the recognition is meaningful, it’s the dedicated team behind the wines who truly deserve the spotlight. Their care, skill and steady commitment make achievements like this possible.
Stellenbosch Reserve Syrah - 94 Points
Judges’ notes: Mocha and rose bud thread through baking spice, plum and liquorice, bolstered by vanilla oak, ripe tannins and creamy texture.
Stellenbosch Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon - 92 Points
Judges’ notes: Violet-scented blackberry and cassis compote with plum, fennel seed and dried rose, framed by fine-grained muscular tannins and stony mineral finish.
Stellenbosch Reserve Chardonnay - 90 Points
Judges’ notes: Popcorn, lime and grapefruit lifted by blossom aromas. The palate delivers ripe fruit wrapped up in creamy oak lifted by lively acidity.
New release: Stellenbosch Reserve Vanderstel 2023
The Stellenbosch Reserve Vanderstel 2023 is a bold winter red with aromas of blackcurrant, cherry and a hint of jasmine. Layers of red liquorice, spice and milk chocolate unfold on the palate, making it a perfect match for slow-braised lamb shank or mushroom risotto.

The Stellenbosch Wine Festival is almost here
Just a month to go until one of our favourite weekends on the calendar! The Stellenbosch Wine Festival is back on 1 and 2 August at the Town Hall, bringing together some of the best wines in the region—all under one roof, right in the heart of town.
It’s a great chance to taste, chat with your favourite winemakers, and stock up on the wines you love. The Stellenbosch Collection will be there with Rust en Vrede, Stellenbosch Reserve, and Guardian Peak—and you’ll get to meet the winemakers: Danielle le Roux, Ignus Ferreira, and Duran Cornhill.
Expect great wine, local bites, and that unmistakable Stellenbosch energy.
