About Bernard Series Bush Vine Pinotage

The Bernard Series is our tribute to the determination and maverick spirit of Bellingham’s co-founder Bernard Podlashuk. Celebrated as a trail-blazing visionary, Bernard’s tenacity and courage established the winery’s stellar reputation and helped shape the South African wine industry we know and love today.

The Bellingham Bernard Series Bush Vine Pinotage 2022 embodies a captivating expression of South Africa’s distinctive indigenous grape variety. Hand-harvested from low-yielding, unirrigated bush vines, with black cherry, mulberry and raspberry fruit, with an earthy minerality and beautiful oak integration.

This Pinotage highlights its elegant side, showcasing the red fruit character of its parent varieties, Pinot Noir and Cinsault. Aromas of bright cherry, plum, and raspberry are layered with subtle spice and dark chocolate. The palate mirrors these notes, offering purity and freshness that linger. Fine tannins add a refined, savory touch, while a perfect balance of richness and vibrancy completes the wine.
