Quiet season, busy hands
While the vineyards lie dormant through the cooler months, winter is anything but quiet at Jordan Wine Estate.
Our farm team is hard at work with seasonal maintenance, giving special care to recently planted blocks of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Assyrtiko. This includes the installation of poles to support the trellis system – an essential structure that trains grapevines for optimal sun exposure, airflow, and overall vine health. By lifting the vines off the ground, this system not only improves grape quality but also makes vineyard tasks more efficien throughout the growing season.
Meanwhile, progress on the road upgrades leading to the estate is well underway and on schedule. Enhancements to the road surface and drainage are already visible, promising smoother access and long-term benefits for Jordan and neighbouring farms. The estate remains fully accessible during this time, and we truly appreciate your patience. As always, please drive slowly and enjoy the scenic approach.
