This intimate series of blind tasting events will take place on the last Friday of each month from June through August (27 June, 25 July, and 29 August 2025) at Waterford Estate, offering a guided journey through the acclaimed wines crafted by the wineries of one of Stellenbosch’s most prestigious wine valleys.
The Upper Blaauwklippen Valley is home to some of Stellenbosch’s most expressive wines, and this event offers an opportunity to explore the depth, diversity, and quality of the valley’s terroir while honing your skills as a wine enthusiast.
Each evening is limited to just 20 guests, offering a rare opportunity for an intimate and engaging tasting experience. Guests will have the opportunity to interact directly with the winemakers and winery representatives, gaining valuable insight into wine tasting techniques and the diverse styles that define the Upper Blaauwklippen Valley.
An educational exploration through blind tasting
Guests will be guided through a blind tasting of 12 wines – six whites followed by six reds – from Upper Blaauwklippen Valley producers: Stellenzicht, Dornier, Waterford Estate, Kleinood, Keermont, and De Trafford.
Hosted by wine experts
The first session will be led by Heidi Duminy, Cape Wine Master (CWM), who will introduce the principles of blind tasting and guide guests through the sensory evaluation process.
A taste of the valley and beyond
Following the guided tastings, guests will have the opportunity to revisit wines from the tasting and enjoy a light snack from the harvest table prepared by SALT, Waterford’s acclaimed culinary partner.
On the evening, a limited-edition mixed case will be available, offering a chance to take the experience home and support local producers.
