Zevenwacht Wine Estate
As we approach the final stages of the 2025 harvest, Zevenwacht shares what's happening on the estate.

Harvest update: Wrapping up a promising season

We are approaching the final stages of the 2025 harvest, with only a few red wine blocks left to be picked. The favourable weather in recent weeks has allowed the vineyards to thrive through the ripening period, resulting in optimal fruit quality. I am especially pleased with the phenolic ripeness we are achieving at lower sugar levels, which contributes to better acid retention and lower potential alcohol, enhancing balance and purity of fruit expression. This will result in wines with refined structure, freshness, and a more pronounced varietal character. Our Bordeaux varieties, in particular, are showing exceptional promise, and I look forward to guiding their development in the cellar.
