The Petousis family, owners of The Vineyard in Newlands and Oude Werf in Stellenbosch, has announced the acquisition of the Stellenbosch Hotel and Stellenbosch Kitchen, further strengthening its presence in the historic Winelands town. This acquisition reinforces the family’s commitment to hospitality, heritage preservation, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Stellenbosch Hotel, a well-established 3-star heritage property, will join Oude Werf, the group’s 4-star deluxe hotel, as part of its growing portfolio. With a longstanding reputation for preserving and evolving historic properties, the Petousis family aims to honour the unique character of Stellenbosch Hotel while enhancing its guest experience.
Lex Petousis, CEO of both Stellenbosch properties, will oversee the transition and integration of the hotel into the group. Reflecting on the acquisition, he noted:

With this new acquisition, the Petousis Group now offers a total of 100 rooms – 58 at Oude Werf and 38 at Stellenbosch Hotel, along with 4 two-bedroom apartments – within 100m of each other in vibrant Church Street. The purchase also includes Stellenbosch Kitchen, further enhancing the group’s food and beverage hospitality offering.
