Exciting estate update
We are embarking on an exciting chapter at Alto Wine Estate as we prepare to renovate our cellar, tasting room and restaurant over the next two years.
To facilitate this process, we will be taking a short break from 24 February 2025, until June 2025. During this period, we will be opening our temporary tasting room and restaurant at our sister property, Bontehoek (formerly Bilton), with the official reopening scheduled for mid-2025.

Harvest 2025
We officially began our 2025 harvest on Thursday, 13 February, by bringing in a small batch of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, which will be used for our Rosé.
This week, we also harvested our first batches of Cabernet Franc. This varietal is a key component in our prestigious red blends, including Alto Rouge, Estate Blend and our limited release M.P.H.S.
The yield and quality of the grapes are looking exceptional, and our winemaker, Bertho van der Westhuizen, is very pleased with the harvest so far. Over the coming weeks, he will carefully monitor the vineyards, taste the grapes, and access their sugar levels to determine the optimal time for harvest.
We eagerly anticipate the rest of the 2025 harvest, especially as we prepare to bring in the king of reds, Cabernet Sauvignon.
