As we look at these beautiful bunches of Pinotage grapes from our estate in the Overberg region, almost ready for harvest, we're reminded of what makes this variety so special. With its bold flavors and unique smoky, fruity character, Pinotage is the heart and soul of South African wine. A wine that’s as rich in history as it is in taste, it truly reflects the passion and terroir of our vineyards.
2025 marks a major milestone – the 100th anniversary of the first ever Pinotage planting! A big year for Pinotage, and Wildekrans Wine Estate, lead by De Wet Viljoen, will continue to craft exceptional Pinotage wines that honour this iconic grape.
