Celebrate Rooibos Day with Klawer Wine Cellars.

Enjoy a rooibos and wine pairing at Klawer Cellars. I know what you are thinking… But it’s not tea and wine. The pairing consists of five different wines paired with canapés infused with rooibos.

The rooibos and wine pairing pays homage to the many rooibos plantations in the Namaqua region and showcases some wonderful products made from it. The most interesting part of this pairing is the African Vermouth, a Rooibos infused dessert wine.

The pairing consists of the following combinations:

  • Villa Esposto Sauvignon Blanc + rooibos-infused fudge: This green and earthy white variety elevates the sweet and creamy aromas of the rooibos-infused fudge for an outstanding palette experience.
  • Villa Esposto Dry Rosé + melba toast with rooibos-infused drizzle: The slightly sweet melba toast and locally made rooibos-infused drizzle enhances the soft and elegant flavours of peaches and cream in the dry Rosé.
  • Klawer Pinotage + rooibos-infused biscotti: A well balanced wine with soft, ripe pruney fruit flavours pairs well with the subtle rooibos taste of the rooibos-infused biscotti.
  • Klawer Cabernet Sauvignon + cheese and rooibos soya cracker: The umami taste of the cracker and cheese along with a salty rooibos-infused soya sauce compliments the ripe berry flavours present in this wine.
  • African Vermouth: This unique fortified wine has muscat tones and is infused with the indigenous rooibos plant and Buchu herb.
