Our tasting room is open for tastings and sales from 11h00 to 17h00.
Our restaurant is open for lunch from Tuesday to Sunday as well as dinner every Wednesday and Friday evening.

Summer canapé and wine experience
Our new Summer Canapé and Wine Pairing celebrates our chef’s Italian heritage with a fresh, alfresco selection of canapes paired with four of our wines.
To start, enjoy our Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé 2024 paired with a melon, prosciutto, basil and bocconcini skewer drizzled with a balsamic glaze, next is our iconic 100th vintage of Alto Rouge 2022 paired with seared beef, caramelized onion and rosa tomato served on a bruschetta.
The third pairing is a favourite with our Shiraz 2019 paired with a pulled lamb shoulder Raviolo served with sundried tomatoes, olives and crispy capers.
To end, enjoy our award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 paired with a biltong and parmesan Arancini ball served with mushroom and truffle aioli.
This pairing is R225 per person and is only available from Friday to Sunday during tasting room hours, 24-hour notice booking is required.

Sunset Rouge Evenings are BACK!
October marks the start of our renowned Sunset Rouge evenings!
We will be kicking off on Friday 4th October with Timothy de Monk and continuing throughout the month with an amazing line-up!
Join us for a glass or two of our award-winning wines, a special limited menu from our restaurant, views that will take your breath away and live music by local musicians.
Our line-up includes:

- 1 November: Naledi Mophai (this will be the last Sunset Rouge at Alto until further notice)

Limited-release heritage blend
In celebration of our milestone 100th vintage of Alto Rouge, we have produced an exclusive limited-edition wine to honour our heritage and traditions as well as encapsulate a piece of Cape wine history.
This wine is a limited release magnum, with only 1000 bottles produced and priced at R1 650 per bottle, this is, without a doubt, a wine that will be a remarkable addition to your collection.
The Alto Centenary Heritage Rouge 2022 was made to pay tribute to the original La Residence Alto Rouge and uphold the time-honoured traditions of Alto’s early winemaking history.
This new release has been rated 94 points by Winemag.co.za with the following tasting notes:
“The nose shows cherries, plums and cassis, some leafiness, a hint of violets and pencil shavings while the palate is medium bodied and harmonious with fresh acidity and fine, powdery tannins. A wine that shows great focus.”
