Sir Richard Branson’s stunning hotel and vineyard in the renowned wine-producing region of Franschhoek has announced the launch of its wine club. Available to all South African residents, the Mont Rochelle Wine Club presents three membership options to choose from – The Discoverer, The Enthusiast and The Connoisseur. Offering wine lovers regular deliveries of the vineyard’s range of award-winning wines, curated by Mont Rochelle’s winemaker, the club will bring special discounts and exciting members-only perks and exclusive events.
The launch of its first wine club offering marks a significant milestone for Mont Rochelle, in the 10th year since Sir Richard Branson brought the 39-hectare estate into his Virgin Limited Edition portfolio of unique retreats.
During the past decade, Mont Rochelle’s farm and vineyard team have carefully and expertly re-planted and regenerated the entire vineyard, after boldly renewing all the vines in 2016. The team took their time analysing the soil’s nutrient composition, studying which variety to plant in which soil and gradually re-planting 15 hectares of vineyards, using the latest sustainable methods and technology, to ensure the healthiest vines and best quality wines, which are now multi-award winning.
Mont Rochelle’s vineyard now cultivates and nurtures various grape varieties including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache, from which the first rose wine was produced last year and awarded gold in both the Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge and the Rosé Wine and Spirit Challenge 2023. Each of Mont Rochelle’s wines across its three ranges (Little Rock lifestyle wines, Mont Rochelle premium wines and MIKO flagship wines) is award-winning, with the vineyard also achieving an impressive four gold medals at last year’s Michelangelo International Wine & Spirit Awards.
There are currently nine wines to choose from across the ranges, which are all available to wine club members, and the first ever Mont Rochelle sparkling wine is also on the horizon in 2025.
Each tier of the wine club offers its members periodic shipments, with doorstep delivery included as complimentary, and exclusive discounts across the entire range of Mont Rochelle wines. Members can also tailor their preferences opting for only red wines, classic single cultivars, a mixed case of red, white and rosé, or they can make their own selection completely tailored to their tastes.
Those looking to expand their knowledge of wine can also access specially curated educational resources, as well as a personal wine concierge service offering bespoke recommendations and dedicated support.

1. The Discoverer
Perfect for lovers of outstanding wines, the first-tier membership offers annual delivery of six handpicked premium wines and complimentary tastings at Mont Rochelle’s restaurant, Country Kitchen. Prices start from R900 per delivery.
2. The Enthusiast
Crafted for the refined palate, this tier offers biannual deliveries of 12 handpicked premium wines, a 15% discount on exclusive limited-edition wines, a 10% discount at Country Kitchen and MIKO restaurants and one complimentary lunch at Country Kitchen (after receiving the first two shipments). Prices start from R1,200 per delivery.
3. The Connoisseur
Dedicated wine aficionados can opt for the top membership tier offering quarterly deliveries of 12 handpicked premium wines. They can also benefit from a 20% discount on exclusive limited-edition wines, a 15% discount at Country Kitchen and MIKO restaurants and a special discounted rate on stays at Mont Rochelle including a complimentary four course dinner with wine pairing. Prices start from R1,400 per delivery.
